John Heron is married to Philippa and they have two grown up children, Lucy, (married to Ben) and Will. John was born and grew up in beautiful Cornwall, before studying Estate Management at Kingston University, where he met Philly at the Christian Union. He then worked for a Housing Association before being sent by Hook Evangelical Church, to train at Oak Hill College. John served at Beccles Baptist Church in Suffolk for 3 years, before moving to Bedfordshire, where he was the Pastor of Sharnbrook Evangelical Church for 16 years.

John and Philly moved to Reading in 2024, when John joined Carey as Pastor.

Richard grew up in Epsom, before studying English literature in Aberystwyth, where he became a Christian. After a few years as a primary school teacher, he and Dorcas moved to Reading in 2011, where Richard worked as an apprentice with Carey. After studying theology at WEST, Bridgend, Richard served as an assistant pastor in Bournemouth. He moved to take up the role of outreach worker at Carey in January 2018. He and Dorcas have three children.

His primary role is equipping the church to reach its neighbours with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Andy grew up in Buckinghamshire, before studying Mathematics at Warwick University, where he became a Christian. After graduating, he worked as maths teacher in the Midlands for 8 years. During this time, Andy was a member of Emmanuel Church Leamington Spa, where he latterly served as an Elder. He also met his wife, Ana, at the church, whilst she was training to be a doctor.

Andy moved to London to study for full-time ministry at London Seminary in 2020, after which, he served as Assistant Pastor at East London Tabernacle Baptist Church for 3 years.

Andy, Ana, and their two young daughters moved to Reading in 2025, when Andy joined Carey as Pastor
