Shelly Scott was born in Cornwall and grew up in Falmouth. After becoming a Christian she moved to Reading with her husband Tony in 1989. With the exception of a brief adventure in Australia for a year, Shelly and Tony have worshipped in Carey for nearly 22 years and now live in Charvil with their three children, Joshua (19), Hannah (17) and Aaron (15). Shelly has previously been involved in the youth work and now works as one of the Administrators in the church office.

Sarah Broady was born in Bristol and grew up in Ossett, West Yorkshire. She studied Biblical Studies (BA) and Church History (MTh) at Bangor University, where she met her husband, Jan. They were married at Carey in 2007 and enjoyed living on Anglesey, N. Wales, for a year before moving to Reading. Prior to working with Shelly in the church office, Sarah managed the Reading branch of Quench Christian Bookshops, where she continues to work on a part-time basis. Jan and Sarah also lead the 11-14 youth group (YP).
